Most phones used a numpad, but the E63 had a full QWERTY keyboard. For emulators (GameBoy, NES) and ports of PC classics, this was a godsend. Mapping controls to the ‘W’, ‘A’, ‘S’, ‘D’ keys or using the bottom row for actions gave it a pseudo-handheld console feel. Playing a free port of Doom or Wolfenstein 3D felt surprisingly natural.
