Ian Simmons launched Kicking the Seat in 2009, one week after seeing Nora Ephron’s Julie & Julia. His wife proposed blogging as a healthier outlet for his anger than red-faced, twenty-minute tirades (Ian is no longer allowed to drive home from the movies).
The Kicking the Seat Podcast followed three years later and, despite its “undiscovered gem” status, Ian thoroughly enjoys hosting film critic discussions, creating themed shows, and interviewing such luminaries as Gaspar Noé, Rachel Brosnahan, Amy Seimetz, and Richard Dreyfuss.
Ian is a member of the Chicago Film Critics Association. He also has a family, a day job, and conflicted feelings about referring to himself in the third person.
If you care about color accuracy, download SpyderX Pro with confidence. It’s professional-grade software that’s easy enough for beginners but powerful for pros. My prints now match my screen – worth every penny.
⭐⭐⭐⭐½ (4.5/5)
I’ve been editing photos for years on what I thought was a decent monitor, but after downloading and using SpyderX Pro with their colorimeter, I realized how far off my colors actually were. The software download process was smooth, fast, and compatible with both my Windows PC and MacBook (I use dual setups). spyderx pro download
You do need the SpyderX hardware device to use the software – this review is about the software experience, which is excellent. The Pro version is worth the extra cost over the standard "Express" version because it gives you advanced controls (like setting target white point and luminance) and the ability to calibrate multiple monitors.
