Gunday is a quintessential Bollywood action-masala film set in the coal belt of 1970s-80s Calcutta. It follows two best friends-turned-rivals, Bikram and Bala (Ranveer Singh and Arjun Kapoor). The plot is over-the-top, full of stylized violence, melodrama, and item songs. It’s entertaining if you enjoy illogical action and bromance, but not a cinematic masterpiece.
