Today, Arthur needed to print his boarding pass. He was flying to Singapore for Derek’s fortieth birthday. A trip of a lifetime. But when he clicked "Print," the Canon F16640 made a sound like a dying harmonica. A blue light blinked ominously. Then, a dialog box appeared on his decade-old Windows laptop:

Margaret patted the printer. "This old tank just needed the right language. Same as people."

"It's a long shot," she muttered. "If this is a virus, your computer will start printing coupons for casinos."

Arthur pointed at the blinking blue light. "It wants something called a F-one-six-six-four-zero driver."

Margaret didn't laugh at him. She understood. "Arthur, give me ten minutes."

"Legacy driver for 32-bit systems no longer supported. Please upgrade your operating system or contact Canon support."
